SkateDaily.net posted an article about the Portland Skate Park

"Five years ago the city of Portland, Maine tore down its only skatepark to make room for college dorms with the promise to relocate the park within a year. Fast forward to 2010, after raising some capitol, the city and skaters finally had a plan, the ‘M’ design. The excitement of the plan was short lived. There was no further progress with the ‘M’ design, no ground breaking and no return phone calls from the city with regards to the issue. The city finally responded with a new plan and a modified design. A design that would cut the square footage of the park from 20,000 sq ft to 8,000 sq ft, yet still cost about the same amount of money.

Maine Skateboarding.com has set up a Facebook page as a forum to express the concerns of the skaters to the city of Portland and hope to return the ‘M’ Design to the planning board and provide a state of the art park for the skateboarders of Maine, the East Coast and the world. Voice your opinion."
